About Me

Fit Under The Collar
Youngest of six. Grew up on farm and loved it. Now, after 25 years away, live on that same farm. Used to have Percheron Draft Horses. Been a Lutheran minister for nearly 20 years. Love that too. Married to my best friend. Together we are blessed with three wonderful children, all delightful and talented in their own way. Wrote a book with DVD on multimedia ministry entitled: "For the Sake of the Gospel: A Media Ministry Primer." Available at Amazon. Lead workshops and seminars on multimedia ministry. Started "Fit Under The Collar" as a blog and facebook page to encourage clergy and others to take good care of their physical and spiritual selves in order to be better equipped to serve the needs of the world. BS degree in Agriculture and a MDiv Degree. Do NOT have formal education in fitness or nutrition fields, but keep up on my reading in those areas. As a pastor I know that no matter how ‘fit’ our physical bodies become, we are still quite fragile in the greater scheme of things (i.e. we can’t escape death and sometimes we can’t even put it off!) Thankfully, the condition of our physical body does not ultimately define our value in God’s sight. Still, it’s a gift worth daily care.
